Biography
Η.Ε. Αrchbishop of Kanaga Theodosios, Metropolitan
of Kananga, Most Honourable and Exarch of Equatorial Africa, was
born in Kyparissi in the Province of Trihonida, Aitoloakarnania in 1973. He
completed primary school in Agrinion. He is a graduate of the Ecclesiastical
Academy of Athos and holds a Degree from the Theological Academy of the
Aristotelian University of Thessalonica. He also holds a Masters’ Degree from
the Hellenic Open University. In 1997 he was tonsured a Monk at the historic
Holy Monastery Gerokomeiou in Patras. In 1997 he was ordained Deacon and in
2002 he was ordained Priest by the then Metropolitan Nicodemus of Patras, and
on the same day received the office of Archimandrite. He served as preacher,
parish priest, spiritual father and catechist in Churches in Patras. In 2016 he
was enrolled among the holy clergy of the Patriarchate of Alexandria, at the
Holy Metropolis of Kinshasa as Chancellor and lecturer at the Theological
Academy of the Orthodox University of Congo. On 30th November 2017 he was
appointed by His Beatitude the Patriarch of Alexandria as Patriarchal Vicar of
Kinshasa.
On 30th November 2017 he was appointed by His Beatitude the Patriarch of Alexandria as Patriarchal Vicar of Kananga. On 26th November 2018, by proposal of His Beatitude he was elected by the Holy Synod of the Patriarchate of Alexandria as Metropolitan of Kananga. He was ordained Bishop by is Beatitude at the Holy Church of St Nicholas in Cairo on 6th December 2018.
